Your winter athletic season updates for Jan. 19, 2015:

Academic Team: The LM Academic Team split with Talawanda with a 50-46 win and a 59-52 loss. The team is now 6-2 in the SWOC.

Bowling: The women's varsity bowling team lost to Mount Healthy by only 36 pins after a nail-biter until the final game.  Kay Rothermund led the girls with a 381 series. The varsity men's team beat Mount Healthy by 43 pins. Jordan Landis led the boys with a 355 series. As well, the men's varsity won another conference match against Edgewood. Anthony Conte had his high game and series of the season with a 202 game and a 354 series. Kyle Raab had a series of 420 and Jordan Landis led the boys with a series of 449.

Men’s Basketball: The Panthers had another good weekend beating Mt. Healthy in overtime on Friday and Edgewood by 11 on Saturday. Senior Austin Hinds was nearly unstoppable against Mt. Healthy leading all scorers with 26 points. Cole Christman pumped in 15 points and the game-winning shot to give us the lead with less than five seconds to go in overtime. Alex Johnson led the pack on Saturday v. Edgewood, leading all scorers with 21 as well as pulling in 11 rebounds. Cole Christman scored a season high 18 points in that game, connecting on eight of his 12 shots with two free throws. The men's varsity basketball team improves to 11-4 on the season, 7-2 in the SWOC.  

Women’s Basketball: The Lady Panthers went 2-1 last week, losing a close game to Loveland 55-49 then winning both conference games over Mt Healthy (45-34) and Edgewood (52-33). The team holds the top spot in the Southwest Ohio Conference with an impressive 11-4 record overall and 8-1 in conference play.

Swimming: The team was at the Wayne Swimvitational this past week. Going strong!!

Wrestling: This past weekend our wrestlers placed well at the Sycamore Wrestling Invitational. Finishers were: Cole Gintert, second; Casey Lawrence, third, Grant Frith, sixth, and Michael Magill, sixth.

  • Friday, Jan. 22: Men’s Basketball home v. Talawanda 4:30 p.m. (freshmen), 6 p.m. (JV), and 7:30 p.m. (Varsity)
  • Saturday, Jan. 23: Men’s Basketball home v. Kings 4:30 p.m. (freshmen), 6 p.m. (JV) , and 7:30 p.m. (Varsity)
