No matter which Little Miami team you root for in the coming years, players will all wear a uniform that doesn’t just feature the same colors, but also the same Nike logo.

The Little Miami athletics department recently approved a five-year agreement with BSN Sports to exclusively provide Nike apparel to Panther teams. This includes uniforms, shoes, equipment and other supplies offered through BSN Sports.

In addition, this agreement will allow Athletic Director Keith Pantling to centralize ordering for everything from soccer nets to tennis balls at discounted prices. Nike will also outfit members of the athletic department, including coaches, administrators and staff.

As Pantling purchases needed items throughout the year, those expenditures go toward a final total that is eligible for rebate credits. Another feature is an on-line spiritwear shop that will feature Nike apparel for fans, too.

This new agreement plays into Pantling’s drive to build a consistent Little Miami look, he said.

“One of the big things when I first started was creating that identity,” he said. “Athletics is a very visible part of the school district. And so creating that identity to who we are and that consistency from athletes’ uniforms to folks who are walking around in a sweatshirt, that helps build pride in our school.”

Because some current team uniforms are brand new and may not be the Nike brand, this transition will happen gradually as uniforms are rotated out of use, Pantling said. But fans can get their first glimpse during the basketball season, as the Panthers men’s team will be debuting a new Nike uniform this year.

BSN Sports is one-third of the Varsity Brands group. The other two companies, Varsity Spirit and Herff Jones, already do business with Little Miami.
