Losurdo, Wood to lead LM men's golf

Two seniors will play key roles in the success of the Little Miami men’s golf team this season, as the Panthers look to take the league title and more.

Coach Pam Rothermund, in her second year as head coach, said seniors Dante Losurdo and Noah Wood would be players to watch.

“I will be looking toward … Dante and Noah to lead the team not only in scoring but as role models for the underclassmen and new members,” she said. “The top teams in the SWOC are very close, that is why the team aspect is so important in high school golf."

Losurdo won the SWOC tournament last year, qualified for districts and was named first-team all-SWOC. Wood tied for fourth at the 2015 conference tournament and was all-league honorable mention.

Coach Rothermund played on her high school boy's golf team for four years and went to state for two of those years. She played on the University of South Florida golf team for two years and played on the Future's mini tour. She is a member of the Professional Golfer's Association. She is also the youth and adult golf instructor for the Countryside YMCA.

Rothermund has watched the men’s golf program continue to grow over the past four years and said as the team’s skills grow, Little Miami will begin to emerge from the middle of the pack in the SWOC and reach for the league title.

"I am looking forward to the start of the season and continued lower scores and averages,” she said.
