Maintaining their foothold at the state level, the Little Miami High School Academic Team finished sixth in state competition on Saturday, May 5 at the OAC State Tournament.

The team defeated Brecksville-Broadview Heights and Findlay, but two heartbreaking one-point losses to both Walnut Hills and Solon put the Panthers out of getting into the Final Four.

"Coming in #6 for the second straight year out of approximately 300 schools that participate in competitive quiz bowl throughout the state of Ohio is an amazing accomplishment," said Coach Ron Maupin. "This also marks our third top 10 finish in the state in the last 5 years!"

Maupin said the team's achievement could not be done without the support of our parents, teachers, administrators, alumni and community members. "They are the backbone of our program, and we want to thank everyone for their help in our journey this year," he said.

The Panthers won the Southwest Ohio Conference Championship and were Southwest Ohio Regional Champs.
