A new day is coming to the Little Miami athletics program as a new leader will soon take the helm.

The Little Miami Local Schools Board of Education voted 5-0 Monday, July 9, to hire La Salle High School athletic director Keith Pantling as LM’s new athletic director.

Pantling has been the A.D. at La Salle since June 1, 2016 and prior to that, served as the associate director of football operations for the University of Tennessee under head coach Butch Jones. He also has experience from the University of Cincinnati, where he served the athletic department in operations, facilities and fundraising.

Pantling has lived in the Little Miami school district while working at La Salle and said he has noticed the excitement surrounding the school district in recent years. Now he is pleased to be a part of it, he said.

“We have great youth programs and great coaches,” he said. “That’s a great recipe for success for years to come. A lot goes into building that spirit and Little Miami is definitely moving in the right direction.”

Pantling has a master’s of education in sports administration from Xavier University and a bachelor’s of science in physical and health education from Canisius College. He is married to wife Alexa and has two young children.

Pantling fills the post vacated by Tiffany Sawyer, who served as the Little Miami high school athletic director since 2012. She was hired as the middle school athletic director for the West Clermont School District in June. Under Sawyer’s tenure, sports at Little Miami moved from low participation numbers and $651 pay-to-participate fees in 2012 to winning the Southwest Ohio Conference all-sports trophy in 2017 and 2018.

“We are excited to have Keith take our athletics program into its next chapter,” said Superintendent Greg Power. “With his qualifications and experience, he is perfectly suited to build on our teams’ successes.”

Pantling’s first day on the job will be July 16.

“I’m excited to get to work for the kids, the coaches and the administration,” he said. “I’m just so excited to meet the kids because in the end, that’s what its all about.”
